What’s in the boxes?
Every item is carefully chosen based on our own needs with our daughter's journey, and has evolved over the years to become an invaluable encouragement to families beginning pediatric cancer treatment. It contains things for their basic needs, like: shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, face wash, toothpaste. And also things that will bring a little encouragement, like handmade pillowcases, a stuffed giraffe, and a custom leather journal.
Our new Toy Boxes are delivered to hospitals pre-packed with brand new toys from Melissa & Doug, Green Toys, Plan Toys, LEGO, McMillan books, and Cobi Toys. Children have a chance to act like a kid again, which is a rare gift during their fight against cancer. And the toys are durable and easy to clean between uses, making them perfect for hospital stays.
Creative Therapy Program
Our new Creative Therapy Program allows young children to have fun, feel beautiful, and be creative during their difficult treatments. All bags include a coloring book, colored pencils, pens, and a notebook for journaling or doodling. A girl’s bag will also include a personal manicure kit and beauty products. A boy’s bag will also include a model sports car.
Spending your birthday in the hospital receiving treatments is the last place anyone would want to be. That’s why we’ve created a fun birthday box to help ease the struggle. This box includes things like a birthday banner, cookies, and a gift card to go birthday shopping.
The process of grieving is a long and painful journey, that’s why we’ve created a special box to send out to parents who have lost a child. This isn’t something that anyone should go through, but our goal is to make sure no family goes through it alone.
Annual Retreat for Grieving Mothers
The pain of losing a child is a journey that no one should have to take alone. We host an annual retreat in the Outer Banks, NC for grieving mothers to find strength and encouragement from other brave women on the same journey.
