One of our most important ongoing missions, the Pillowcase Project was started to ensure to that every child has a clean, handmade pillow to lay on during their hospital stay.

The most common side effect of cancer treatment is nausea and vomiting. We learned from our own journey that pillowcases get dirty and ruined quickly, and hospital bedding is uncomfortable to begin with. Our goal this year is to make sure that every Care Box we send contains 2 handmade pillowcases - for cleanliness, for comfort, and to remind our children of home.

We need 1,000 pillowcases in 2017. Here's how you can help.

Sewing Specifications

We recommend using medium-weight cotton fabric with colorful patterns. Finished pillowcase dimensions should be 20"x30". You will need approximately 2yd. fabric for a set of 2 pillowcases.

We truly appreciate the Care Box we received while at Duke. It’s so touching to see families come together in support of one another.
