Happy Mother's Day

Motherhood: The continual pouring out of oneself for the well being of your children without pause or bitterness, only love.

Our family welcomed our third child, Sarah Jordan, into our family March 21st. She is a beautiful blessing, and proof that God continues to restore the broken. My youngest daughter has mended parts of my heart I once thought unreachable, and instantly made our family more complete. Only God could give back a portion this great after losing so much.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows” Psalm 23:5

Motherhood is beautifully blessed, but not for the faint of heart. Motherhood is like living with your heart and soul outside of yourself in another person. It is the ultimate lesson of selflessness and servitude. When my child is in need, I see a chance to serve. When my child is sick, I see a chance to comfort. When my child is sad, I see a chance to uplift and encourage. When my child is broken, I see a chance to heal. When my child needs to be heard, I see a chance to listen.

When I see my child, I see God in my life. My greatest act of worship to the one who created me is to be the best mom that I can be.

May you be blessed this Mother’s Day, and remember that you are not alone. He is with us on the good days and the bad, upholding us in his mighty hand.

Psalm 37:24 “though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand”

Isaiah 41:13 “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of you right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you,”
