Kyle became involved with the Claire Parker Foundation 7 years ago by leading the “Reach for The Gold” fundraising campaign at my elementary school as PE teacher there. Before, he followed Claire’s journey fighting cancer and marveled at her parents’ faith in action during the battle. As a young parent at the time, his heart hurt for both Claire and her parents, unable to imagine the roller coaster ride they lived daily. Since then, his community service project each year with my students has been centered on helping kids (mainly local) who are fighting this terrible disease. Kyle’s desire grew when one of my students who had just raised money for the Foundation was diagnosed with cancer and learned of her diagnosis through a Claire Parker Foundation care package. Kyle is blessed to be apart of such an amazing organization.

Jacob Taylor has participated in various fundraising activities from the very beginning of the Claire Parker Foundation.  From shaving his head for the St. Baldrick’s – For the Love of Claire event, to growing a ghastly mustache each year for the annual Mustaches for Kids campaign, Jake will go to any length to support the mission of the CPF in memory of Claire.  Outside of his hair-raising contributions, he takes great pride in his support of the Claire House program and providing top notch BBQ and other foods at various CPF sponsored or related events while recruiting many supporting staff along the way.  Jake looks forward to continuing to support these and future CPF activities as board member.

Jake resides in Gretna with his wife, Starla, and three children, Vivian, Kaylen and Ivan.  Currently employed at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, his professional background includes education, construction, and farming.  When he has time to spare, he enjoys hunting and fishing with family and friends.
